Booking & Payment: A £20 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. The remaining balance must be paid in full prior to or on the day of arrival.
Cancellations (Owner): If you need to cancel your booking, please provide as much notice as possible. Where cancellation is made at short notice and we are unable to rebook the space, we reserve the right to retain some or all of the booking fee to cover loss of earnings. Where the space is successfully rebooked, no additional cancellation charge will apply beyond the deposit.
Cancellations (By Us): In rare circumstances, we may need to cancel a booking due to reasons beyond our control. In such cases, we will provide as much notice as possible and refund any payments made. We are not responsible for any additional costs incurred, such as alternative boarding arrangements, except where required by law.
Health, Welfare & Emergencies: We provide a safe, clean, and caring home environment and take all reasonable steps to ensure the health and wellbeing of all small animals in our care. If your pet becomes unwell or passes away during their stay, we will contact you immediately using the details provided. In the event of illness or injury requiring urgent attention where you cannot be contacted, you authorise us to seek veterinary treatment as necessary.
Veterinary Treatment & Fees: If your pet shows signs of illness or injury, we will contact you as soon as possible and arrange treatment with your nominated vet or our local veterinary practice where appropriate. In an emergency, your pet will be taken to the nearest available veterinary practice. All veterinary fees, including treatment, medication, and cremation where applicable, are the responsibility of the owner. These must either be paid directly to the veterinary practice or reimbursed to us in full. A reasonable charge may be applied to cover transport costs (e.g. fuel) for veterinary visits.
Liability: While every reasonable care and precaution is taken, small animals may become ill, injured, or pass away due to underlying conditions, stress, or unforeseen circumstances. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. To the extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for illness, injury, death, loss, or damage that occurs despite reasonable care being taken. Owners are responsible for ensuring their pet is adequately insured for illness, injury, and other risks during their stay.
Owner Responsibilities: Owners must ensure their pet is in good health prior to boarding and must inform us of any existing medical conditions, behavioural traits, or special care requirements. Owners are responsible for providing adequate food, medication, and clear care instructions where required.
Long-Term Boarding: For stays exceeding 31 days, an additional charge of £11.20 per 3-month period applies to cover extended care and associated costs.
Boarding Fees: Boarding is charged on a daily basis, including both the day of arrival and the day of departure, regardless of drop-off or collection time. If you choose to collect your pet earlier than the agreed date, the full original booking fee remains payable. If your pet is not collected on the agreed date, additional days will be charged at the standard daily rate.
Abandonment & Failure to Collect: If your pet is not collected on the agreed collection date and we have not received prior communication, we will make reasonable attempts to contact you using the details provided. If no contact is made within 7 days, your pet will be considered abandoned. In such circumstances, we reserve the right to arrange rehoming or transfer to an appropriate rescue organisation. All costs incurred, including continued boarding and care, remain the responsibility of the owner and may be recovered. We reserve the right to retain your pet until all outstanding fees have been paid in full. Nothing in this clause affects our legal obligations under the Animal Welfare Act 2006.
Agreement: By making a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions and authorise Pelletts Guinea Pig Boarding to seek veterinary treatment if required.
